Mary Dyar Memorial Fund

Mary Dyar, a Minneapolis Public Library employee and administrator from 1939 – 1976, passed away on February 8th, 2008 at the age of 93. Mary graduated from Carlton College and the U of M Library School; her entire career was at the Minneapolis Public Library from which she retired as Associate Director in 1976.

The family has requested that memorials are given to The Friends of the Minneapolis Public Library. Your gift to this fund will serve as an on-going tribute to Mary's years of service at the Library to be enjoyed by library users for many generations to come.

Founded in 1949, The Friends of the Minneapolis Public Library is a 501(c)(3) organization that helps make our libraries thriving community centers of intellectual discovery and lifelong learning. With 5,000 members, The Friends is one of the largest and most accomplished library support groups in the country.

All gifts to The Friends go to support the Library including collections purchases; literacy initiatives, such as the Summer Reading Program and Homework Helper; operating The Friends two Book Stores, staffed by volunteers; and sponsoring cultural programs that bring new patrons into our libraries and foster the free exchange of ideas.

Your gift, which will be listed in our our annual report, is 100% tax-deductible to the full extent of the United States tax laws.
